Meet the Host


Zara McDermott

Zara McDermott is a television presenter, documentary-maker, and media personality who first rose to fame on the fourth series of Love Island in 2018.

Before entering television, she worked as a policy adviser for the UK's Department for Education. Since then, she has established herself as a factual broadcaster, fronting acclaimed BBC documentaries on issues including revenge porn, rape culture, disordered eating, stalking, and online crime. She has also appeared on Made in Chelsea and competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023.

Known for using her own experiences to inform her work, McDermott has built a reputation as a presenter who shines a light on important social issues while remaining a prominent figure in British entertainment.

Dr Emily Prpa

Dr. Emily Prpa is an award-winning nutrition scientist, registered nutritionist, and science communicator with a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from King's College London. Her research focuses on nutrition, the gut microbiome, and how diet influences physical and mental wellbeing. Following her PhD, she worked as a Research Fellow at the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, helping to inform UK food policy.

Today, Dr. Prpa is a Visiting Nutrition Scientist and lecturer at King's College London, as well as a speaker, writer, and media presenter. She is known for making nutrition science accessible, regularly discussing topics including gut health, women's health, protein, and evidence-based nutrition, while helping people cut through misinformation with practical, science-backed advice.
